Client I - Audit Defense

Client I called us terrified. He was facing an IRS audit and didn't know where to start. He was a self-filer who had kept most of his records, but he knew better than to go into an audit without a qualified representative defending him.

After Client I engaged Tax Masters for audit defense services, we learned that the IRS believed he owed a little over $150,000 in unpaid taxes. We worked with Client I to get all the documentation in place we needed and attended the audit on his behalf. When we walked out of the room, we had reduced Client I's tax liability from over $150,000 down to just $54,000. That's a 64% savings.

Client N - Audit Defense

A little more of a realistic case, Client N was audited and found to owe the IRS over $15,000. She called Tax Masters and purchased our audit appeal services to appeal the audit findings. After the IRS accepted the offer in compromise, Client O owed only $1,000 instead of $110,000, an amazing result.

Client R - Negotiated Settlement

While Client R did not owe as much as some people, the $13,000 the IRS claimed he owed in back taxes was simply not in his fixed income budget to repay. Back taxes can grow extremely quickly and, after the additional fees and penalties and interest, take on a life of their own. Client R purchased our negotiated settlement services and worked with us to regain IRS compliance before negotiating the debt. The IRS accepted a negotiated settlement of just $2,000 instead of the full amount of $13,000, allowing Client R to pay his IRS debt and resume his life.

Client M - Audit Defense

Client M was not our typical client in that he didn't owe thousands of dollars to the IRS. Rather, he was audited and assessed an additional liability of $2,700. His worry was that he would get into the audit and the IRS would find more problems with his past returns to audit.

Tax Masters looked at the audit details and at Client M's past returns and represented him at the audit. Not only was the IRS not able to assess Client M any more tax liability, but they dropped their audit assessment from $2,700 to only $500.

Client E - Filing Past-Due Returns

Client E called and told us that he had a number of unfiled tax returns from past years. Tax Masters was able to replace the SFRs filed by the IRS with amended returns for Client E. The SFRs, along with all penalties, fees, and interest, added up to a tax bill of over $100,000.

After Tax Masters led Client E through the process of claiming all the deductions he had coming, the IRS eliminated his back taxes entirely and wound up paying him a $23,000 refund for the amended return years.

Client D - Negotiated Payment Plan

Client D called us with a back tax debt of $490,000. He had set up a payment plan with the IRS himself, but the monthly payment of $700 was making his life very difficult.
